A Letter from Marc Pollack
Welcome to the Flix FX website. I want your Internet experience with us to be an enjoyable one. There are dozens of video clips and hundreds of photographic examples of our work in Flix Latest and the Flix Vault. Some clips include behind the scenes footage, to give perspective on how we achieved the effect.
2010 begins a new decade with a new range of possibilities. Our new sister company STANDOUT GRAPHICS has added great value and diversified services to our repertoire.
STANDOUT GRAPHICS is not just another graphics company. It is unique in that it employs new high-end digital technology for flat bed printing of vacuum-formable imagery coupled with our own, patented process for distortion compensation. This allows us to create stunning six color, pre-printed Vacuform panels, props and posters.
Our proprietary software allows us to take existing 2D flat image or artwork and create a physical 3D version with crisp, vibrant graphics in vacuum formed plastic. We can also create pre-printed architectural details and readily adjust the colors to match your project. When mated with the cost-effectiveness of vacuum-form molding, it becomes a viable way to create a large quantity of finished relief panels without a cost of having them individually scenic painted. Because it is digitally produced, low runs are no problem and so many more applications become possible.

The next issue of the ”Flix Trix Online Newsletter” is about to be published. It contains entertaining examples of recent projects, and a “Tips & Trix” article with information, pictures and linked video about the applications, techniques and the plain old fun of creating physical special effects and props.
The purpose of the Tips & Trix articles is to better acquaint non-effects " Industry Professionals" with the many disciplines that come together in this specialized part of the industry. Flix FX, Inc. is a Licensed California Contractor, CSLB license # 822073. Our allowing us to perform special effects related services for permanent installation. California contractors can utilize us for subcontracting any of their special effects related projects. This not only expands our range of services, but also reinforces our commitment to provide the highest quality of service to our clients.

Flix FX Personnel Biographies
Marc Pollack President
Marc is a Native New Yorker who holds a B.F.A. from the State University of
New York, Purchase College in Theatre Arts. He has made California his home for twenty-six of the thirty-three years he has spent in the Film Production Industry. His earliest experiences in film date back to making animated films with friends in elementary school. Marc's professional background includes work as Production Manager, Property Master, Art Director and Mechanical Special Effects Designer and Fabricator. He started Flix F.X., Inc. on his own, in 1991. Marc currently resides with his family in Camarillo, CA.
Gary Freeman Project Manager
Gary is originally a native of Fort Collins, Colorado. He holds a B.S. Degree in Industrial Technology from Colorado State University. He has an extensive working knowledge of Set Construction and Carpentry techniques as well as over 20 years of experience in Prop Fabrication and Mechanical Effects Applications. He resides with his family in Pasadena, CA
Bruce Milligan Rentals and Vacuforming Manager
Originally from Massachusetts, Bruce's family moved to California when he was in High School. His over twenty years experience in automotive repair included his own business in that field. He has an extensive knowledge of Vacu-forming techniques and materials. He has been with the company since 1996 and currently resides in Little Rock, CA
